Making invisible participation barriers visible so neurodivergent children can truly belong.

The EPIC Participation Framework™

Inclusion keeps failing. Not because people don't care, but because participation barriers stay invisible.

The EPIC Participation Framework™ is a neuro-affirming, evidence-informed way of seeing and reducing those barriers , so that every neurodivergent child can genuinely belong.

About the Framework

Most barriers to neurodivergent participation aren’t obvious. They’re built into unspoken expectations, environments designed for neurotypical children, the hidden costs of joining in, and small moments of (often unintentional) exclusion that add up.

The EPIC Participation Framework™ names these challenges, like the Participation Tax, Hidden Expectations & Hidden Barriers, and Returnability, so that the adults working with neurodivergent children can finally see what’s been getting in the way of inclusion, and can do something about it.

Why This Matters Right Now

As NDIS and Thriving Kids reforms change how much individual support is available, more neurodivergent children are relying on the everyday inclusiveness of schools and community programs to participate. That makes those invisible barriers matter more than ever. Organisations don’t need another compliance checklist, they need those barriers made visible. That’s exactly what the EPIC Participation Framework™ does.
